2025 Year in Review by Bläser-Schmiede

A year full of music, community, and special highlights

The turn of the year is just around the corner – a good moment to pause and look back on what shaped 2025 for the Bläser-Schmiede. It was a year full of musical highlights, intensive rehearsals, and a community that continued to grow closer together. One event in particular stands out: the 1st Bohemian Kirbe – an evening that set new standards.

Musical highlights of 2025 – brass music with character

In 2025, the Bläser-Schmiede could be heard and experienced at various events. Our musical standards remained the same throughout:

Honest, handmade brass music, high-quality sound, stylistically clear, and with a palpable joy of playing.

Whether concertante, festive, or convivial, every performance thrived on its proximity to the audience and a shared passion for Bohemian-Moravian brass music. This combination shapes the unmistakable character of the Bläser-Schmiede.

The 1st Bohemian Kirbe – a milestone for the Bläser-Schmiede

From idea to living tradition

A brass band plays on a stage in a festively decorated room. Many people sit in front of the stage and watch the concert. The lighting is warm and inviting, while a large screen with the words "Bläser-Schmiede" (Wind Instrument Workshop) is visible in the background.

One of the absolute highlights of the year was the 1st Bohemian Kirbe. What began as an idea developed into an atmospheric musical event. The special atmosphere, a packed wine press, and an enthusiastic audience made this evening something very special.

The combination of Bohemian-Moravian brass music, conviviality, and close proximity to the audience struck just the right note. The many positive responses confirmed that this format has potential and a bright future.

Voices from the ensemble (original recordings)

“The Bohemian Kirbe was an evening where you could really feel how much music brings people together.”

“That kind of atmosphere carries you as a musician — you never forget it.”

“The Kirbe festival demonstrated what the Bläser-Schmiede stands for: music with heart and attitude.”

The 1st Bohemian Kirbe was therefore not only a musical success, but also a clear commitment to the stylistic direction of the wind instrument forge.

Rehearsal work you can listen to

Behind such highlights lies intensive and continuous rehearsal work. 2025 was marked by concentrated, ambitious rehearsals in which the band deliberately worked on sound, ensemble playing, and musical expression.

The Bohemian repertoire in particular demonstrates how important subtleties are — from phrasing to breathing in unison. This attention to detail was clearly audible and palpable during the performances.

Community as a foundation

The Bläser-Schmiede thrives on its community. 2025 has shown how valuable solidarity, reliability, and mutual respect are. New musicians were welcomed with open arms, and existing connections were further strengthened.

Whether during rehearsals, performances, or personal exchanges — togetherness forms the foundation of our ensemble.

Thanks to everyone involved

At the end of the year, we would like to thank all musicians for their commitment, time, and passion.

Special thanks also go to all our helpers, supporters, and our audience, who accompany and appreciate our work.

Outlook for 2026 – looking ahead with anticipation

Bohemian Kirbe 2.0 and new musical projects

A group of about twenty people stand in a room and smile at the camera. They all raise their hands. In the foreground is a man taking a selfie. Music stands and instruments can be seen in the background.

We are looking ahead: new musical projects are already being planned for 2026. We are particularly looking forward to a continuation of the Bohemian Kirbe. The experiences and feedback from 2025 have whetted our appetite for more.

In addition, we want to continue on our musical path with consistency — with new ideas, a clear direction, and the ambition to present brass music in a lively, high-quality, and accessible way.

Starting the new year with momentum

We look forward to the coming year with great anticipation and are excited about many musical encounters, new projects, and special moments in 2026 — together with our audience and everyone connected to the Bläser-Schmiede.
